Spray Tan Tips
A couple of tips to help us achieve your best spray tan ever. Before we get to work, you must prepare your skin. This is a simple process, but it must be done properly. Shaving and exfoliation should happen the evening before your appointment. Wear darkly-colored, loose-fitting cotton clothing and bring flip-flops. If you don’t have time to exfoliate before you arrive, we can upgrade your appointment to include a dry body buff and a quick shower using a pecan shell exfoliating scrub by Aviva Tanning. From there, our spray tanning techs will get to work on that full-body tan, half-body spray, or a quick bronzing of the face and décolleté.
Our traditional option is ideal for anyone looking to have a considerably darker complexion; the typical time to fully develop is approximately 4-6 hours before showering. If you’re short on time, however, we do offer a unique menu of Express Tan options. The express formulations were created for anyone in desperate need of a quick tan. Depending on the intensity of the tan you’re looking for, you can shower in 30 to 90 minutes! No other salon in Miami Beach can give you such amazing results in such a short time. All of our natural formulations contain up to 14% organic DHA (Dihydroxyacetone), which ensures a long-lasting tan.
A couple more tips related to the longevity of spray tans. Do not shower until FOUR hours minimum after the tan – ideally six! Avoid any type of exercise, avoidable sweating or rain until then. After your first shower, you should moisturize using one of Aviva Labs lotions available here. Exfoliation is the ultimate “no-no,” whether it’s shaving, using a loofah, showering with body scrubs, even rubbing a towel to dry off (always pat dry =). Ring In July 4th In Style With These Patriotic Beauty Hacks
The Fourth of July is right around the corner – let the celebration begin! Between BBQs, pool parties and firework displays, there will be plenty of opportunities to show off your patriotic spirit by incorporating red, white, and blue into your beauty routine. Here’s a few of our favorite patriotic beauty looks to get festive for the Fourth without looking coming off cheesy.
With nail art continually growing in popularity, festive fingers are the go-to way to show off your patriotism this Independence Day. We love this modern, minimalistic take on Americana-inspired nails. Get the look by coating nails with an opaque white base coat and using an angled, thin nail brush to paint a diagonal row of blue stripes. Follow with an intersecting row of red stripes in the alternate direction and seal the deal with a protective top coat. An All-American Classic Red Lip
There is nothing more iconic and all-american than a classic red lip. The key to successfully sporting a bold lip is to thoroughly prep your pout prior to application. Set the stage for a flawless look by removing dry, dead skin by gently buffing lips with a soft toothbrush or clean mascara wand. Follow up with a generous coat of ultra-hydrating balm to hydrate, as cracked and peeling lips will make your lipstick bleed and appear uneven.
To keep your color as vivid as possible throughout the day, dab a thin layer of foundation over the lips. Give your look staying power by applying a long-lasting liner to the entire lip as a first coat of color, and then using an angled brush to apply lipstick in short brush strokes. It’s a Vitamin Infusion for Your Face!
The Vitamin Sea clinical facial treatment is only offered at Miami Beach’s most beloved spas, McAllister Spa and is the “must-have” treatment for all skin types looking to jump start their skin care routine. This facial is meant to detoxify, rebalance, and heal all skin types with the use of SkinCeuticals scientifically tested ingredient formulations with the added benefit of botanical extracts and minerals.
A Unique Spa Experience
Our cleanse is not just any cleanse. You will begin to unwind as our skilled aestheticians double cleanse your face, neck and décolleté with gentle, yet effective SkinCeuticals cleansers. The line’s MicroPolish will be incorporated to effectively and gently exfoliate away dead skin and impurities with the use of alumina crystals. While the product’s diatomaceous earth which is rich in magnesium, iron and calcium will also absorb toxins and sebum found on the skin’s surface; while brown algae aids as an anti-inflammatory.
You will feel your body start to unwind and your mind relax as we move onto our impurity removal massage for the face, neck, and décolleté. After extractions we immediately cool then sanitize the skin to bring down any discoloration and irritation in the skin.
