It’s summer time and while many salons welcome the “break” from the usual craziness, we here at McAllister Spa are too “Type A” for that. We are staying busy with our many dedicated and loyal local clients that come back every few weeks like clockwork, but we are also making great use of of those few moments of spare time to grow, educate, teach and improve the quality of our services. Over the next 6 weeks, many of our team members will be traveling to attend classes or to teach other stylists how to be incredible (just like us)!
Mark Holloway will be away, working as a national platform artist with Goldwell, August 1st – August 18th and again August 25th – September 7th. Book ASAP since August first is around the corner and he will only be in the salon August 18 – August 22nd
Laura Bernal will be in other parts of Florida teaching Goldwell color classes and will return July 31st.

Introducing Live Streaming Consultations!
If you haven’t heard of Periscope and Meerkat yet, it’s time to hop on out from under that rock and prepare to be amazed. These brand new live-streaming video apps, which allows users to broadcast a real-time video feed to followers, is taking the social media world by storm. While early adopters are taking full advantage of the app to broadcast their personal day-to-day dealings, the tech-savvy team at McAllister Spa has found a way to harvest the power of Periscope, Meerkat and FaceTime to revolutionize the salon consultation process. We have created an entirely virtual, real-time conversation that captures all that can be seen and heard about your hair, skin and nails.
Our adoption of live-streaming consultations provides our clients the ability to connect directly with a McAllister stylist, nail technician or esthetician on a digital level, whether on the go or from the comfort of their own home to discuss esthetic concerns and style goals, establishing a pre-appointment dialogue to save the client time in the long run. Upon salon arrival, the client will have already conducted their initial discussion and can begin working with the stylist immediately.
In addition to the Periscope’s many features, a user can broadcast their videos publicly or privately within a group. Private group broadcasts can conveniently double as a group consultation for customers. Have a wedding coming up this summer? Your bridal party can digitally partake in a consultation to find a hairstyle that best fits the group from anywhere in the world.
The integration of business and technology has proven to be the new normal in most industries, although salons and spas have only use many innovations to a certain extent, until now.
