Common Questions
- Do I need a Florida license to work at McAllister Spa?
- For any licensed service — hair, nails, skin — yes, Florida requires a current state license, and we hold to that. But if your license is still in process, you are licensed in another state and transferring, or you are finishing school, still send the form and say so. Timing matters more than paperwork status, and assistant and front-desk roles do not require a license at all.
- Do I need to bring my own clients?
- No. An established book is genuinely valuable and we will talk about it, but we are a seven-day salon on Alton Road with 185+ five-star Google reviews, hotel concierge referrals, and walk-in traffic. Plenty of people here built their book in this chair rather than carrying one in.
- What are the hours and the schedule like?
- The salon is open every day: 9AM–8PM Tuesday and Wednesday, 9AM–9PM Thursday through Saturday, and 11AM–7PM Sunday and Monday. Individual schedules are built with you — full-time and part-time both exist here. Weekend and Sunday–Monday availability is the most valuable thing you can offer us, because that is when Miami Beach is busiest and most salons are closed.
- What does it pay?
- Your exact number is a direct conversation, not a line on a webpage, because it depends on the role, your license and experience, and what you want your week to look like. What we will say plainly is this: we pay among the highest commissions anywhere in Miami. Quality is not something that comes cheaply, and we would rather pay properly for it than pretend otherwise — good people doing great work are incentivized here on purpose. - How fast will I hear back?
- Usually the same day. Your application arrives as a text message on the owner's phone, so there is no committee and no queue between you and an answer.
