- McAllister Spa uses a request-based booking model: you can text, call, or submit a request through the website, and a team member personally confirms your appointment rather than instant auto-booking. This lets stylists account for consultation needs before confirming a time.
- What hair color and skincare brands does McAllister Spa use?

- Is McAllister Spa a hair salon, nail salon, or spa?
- All three, under one roof: a full hair salon, a nail salon, and a spa offering HydraFacials, massage, airbrush tanning, and PhiBrows microblading — in continuous operation in Miami Beach since 2010.
- Does McAllister Spa take walk-ins?
- Yes, when the floor allows — and being open seven days means it often does, including the Sundays and Mondays much of Miami Beach is closed. Blow-dries, men's cuts, manicures, pedicures and brow work are the services most likely to fit a walk-in. Color, balayage, keratin, extensions and bridal always need an appointment, because they need a consultation and a block of chair time nobody can promise on the spot. - How much is a haircut at McAllister Spa?
- A women's haircut with a stylist blow dry is $125 with a Senior stylist, $145 with a Master stylist and $165 with a Director. A men's haircut and styling is $65, $75 and $85 at the same three levels. A shampoo and blowout on its own starts at $70. - Is McAllister Spa near Collins Avenue and the beach hotels?
- About two-thirds of a mile west of Collins Avenue at 13th Street — a fifteen-minute walk, or four or five minutes by car or scooter. Ocean Drive is a couple of minutes further, and Lincoln Road is a nine-minute walk. Guests staying on Collins, on Ocean and at the Setai, the National, the Betsy and the Loews come to us rather than paying resort prices, and we are one of the few salons on the Beach with free parking on site. - Is McAllister Spa open on Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's Day?
- No — those are the only three days of the year we close, and they are the same three every year. We are open every other day, including Sundays and Mondays. New Year's Eve itself is a working day, on a short event menu at event pricing with a reservation fee; it is January 1 that is closed. - Can I request a specific stylist at McAllister Spa?
- Yes, and it is the normal way to book. Every artist has their own page with their work, the reviews that mention them by name, the languages they speak and what they charge at their level. - Where can I park near McAllister Spa on Alton Rd?
- Free parking is available on-site at 1301 Alton Rd — no need to hunt for metered street parking or a nearby garage, which is unusual for a salon this close to the Lincoln Road and West Avenue corridor.
- Is McAllister Spa in South Beach or Miami Beach?
- Both — McAllister Spa is in South Beach, the southern neighborhood of the city of Miami Beach, FL, near Flamingo Park. Locals use the two names interchangeably for this part of the city.
- What's the difference between balayage and highlights?
- Highlights are painted in sections using foils for a more uniform, consistent lightness throughout. Balayage is hand-painted freehand directly onto the hair without foils, creating a softer, more natural graduation of color with less visible regrowth line as it grows out. Many clients combine both techniques for a fuller result — your stylist will recommend the right approach during your free consultation.
- What's the difference between a HydraFacial and a regular facial?
- A HydraFacial uses a patented device to cleanse, exfoliate, and infuse the skin with serums in one continuous step, delivering more consistent, immediate results than a traditional manual facial. A standard facial relies on hands-on extraction and mask work instead. We perform both, using SkinCeuticals products, and can help you choose the right one during a consultation.
- Waxing vs. threading — which is better for eyebrows?
- Threading uses cotton thread to remove hair at the follicle with more precision, making it a good choice for fine shaping and sensitive skin. Waxing removes hair over a larger area faster. Many clients choose threading for eyebrows specifically and waxing for larger areas like legs or arms — we offer both.
- How long does microblading last?
- PhiBrows microblading typically lasts 12–18 months before fading, depending on your skin type and aftercare, with most clients returning for a touch-up before then to keep the shape crisp. - Is airbrush tanning safe, and how long does it last?
- Yes — our formulations use DHA, an FDA-approved color additive for skin, applied by airbrush rather than a spray tent for more even, controlled coverage. A typical airbrush tan lasts up to 7 days before it fades naturally, the way a sun tan gradually fades. View Airbrush Tanning Pricing →
- Do you sell gift cards?
- Yes — gift cards are available in the salon rather than online. Call or text (305) 604-0550 and we'll have one ready, or pick one up at 1301 Alton Rd, Miami Beach, open seven days a week with free parking. A gift card can be used toward any service on the menu: hair, nails, facials, waxing, and more.
