My family's devotion to Miami's hospitality industry spans nearly a century. Back in 1917, my great-great-grandmother, Ms. E.C. McAllister, arrived on the shores of Biscayne Bay with a vision of the “Magic City.” At a time when women could not yet vote, she built Miami's first high-rise building, at the heart of what is now downtown Miami, and established the McAllister Hotel. Her devotion to others and her love of this city built a reputation for world-class service that became an incredible destination for Miami's locals and visitors alike.

The McAllister Hotel quickly became a social hub for our emerging city and served as the backdrop for the lives of generations of Miamians to come. It's in that same spirit, and with that same devotion to others, that I established McAllister Spa in Miami Beach. At its inception, we thought hard about what salons once were in years gone by. We wanted to recapture their unique contribution to individual beauty, fashion, and community — the way salons of an earlier era, like coffeehouses today, served as places people gathered, not just places they were served. With a nod to that past elegance, and everything that defines beauty today, we set out to redefine what a spa and salon should be.
