Ask for one of them when you book. Curl is the kind of work where the person in the chair matters more than almost anything else on our menu.
Why curly is its own discipline
A curl is a spring. Length behaves differently on it than on straight hair, because every inch you remove pulls the curl up further than the inch suggests — which is how a “trim” becomes a shock. Weight distribution matters more too: curly hair carries volume in places straight hair doesn't, and a shape that ignores that produces the triangle everyone with curls has been given at least once.
Curl pattern also varies across a single head. Most curly people have looser curl underneath, tighter curl at the crown, and something else entirely at the hairline. Cutting to an average of that gets you a shape that fits nobody. Reading it properly — and cutting to what your hair actually does rather than what it does after a blow dry — is the skill you are booking.
Which is also why we ask you to arrive with your hair worn the way you actually wear it. If you wear it curly, come curly. A straightened arrival hides every piece of information the appointment depends on.

Color is priced separately — a single process starts from $110 and balayage from $240 — and the Olaplex Bond Multiplier Service is a $50 add-on that is worth taking on curls you are lightening.

Should I go to a salon if I have curly hair?
Only if somebody there cuts curls specifically, which is a different skill rather than a harder version of the same one. A stylist who cuts curly hair the way they cut straight hair will take length off wet, watch it spring up two inches, and hand you a shape nobody wanted. Three stylists here specialise in it and cut to your actual curl pattern. If the salon you are considering cannot tell you which of their stylists does curls, that is your answer.
Which hair cut is best for curly hair?
There is no single best cut, and anyone who names one is selling something. What works is layering matched to your curl pattern and density: tighter curls need weight removed so the shape does not turn into a triangle, looser waves usually need weight left in so they do not go fluffy. Length matters less than where the weight sits. Bring a photo of your hair on a good day rather than a photo of somebody else's, and the consultation will get you there.
Do you have stylists who actually specialize in curly hair?

What should I do with my hair before a curly appointment?
Come in with your hair worn the way you actually wear it, and if you normally wear it curly, arrive curly rather than straightened. Can I color curly hair without wrecking the curl pattern?
Yes, with care. Lightening is chemistry and it does affect the hair's structure, which curly hair is less forgiving about than straight hair. The Olaplex Bond Multiplier Service is a $50 add-on that works during the color process, when the bonds are actually at risk. Every one of our curly specialists is also a colorist, so this is a conversation you can have with the same person doing the work.
Should I straighten or smooth my curls for Miami humidity?
Only if you want to. Smoothing treatments are a legitimate choice and we offer them, but plenty of people fight humidity far more effectively with a cut that works with their curl pattern instead of against it. Our honest advice usually starts with the cut, not the chemistry — and a stylist who tells you that first is worth keeping.
