Jie's Story
Jie is a Director with more than twenty years behind the chair, and guests come to him for precision haircutting.
He trained in Paris in 1985 and built his name in Toronto, where he opened Salon Jie on Avenue Road in 2002 and where the Globe and Mail and Streets of Toronto wrote about his chair, including the bangs Nelly Furtado wore for several seasons.
Precision is mostly decision-making: reading how your hair grows, where the weight should sit, and how the shape will behave once it is dry and lived in. He is also one of three stylists here who specialize in curly and textured hair, and he works in color, balayage, keratin and smoothing. He sees guests in English and French.
