Halloween through New Year's Day

The Miami Beach Holiday Booking Calendar

From the last week of October to the first day of January, McAllister Spa runs at regular published prices and stays open seven days — with three exceptions, printed below so nobody drives to Alton Road for nothing. Here is what to book and when, early enough to be useful.

Rated 5 out of 5:Simply the best hair salon in Miami Beach.Frederic J., Facebook

Regular prices all season. December 31 is the one exception, on its own event menu.

The only three days we close

We are open every other day of the year, Sundays and Mondays included, which most of the Beach is not. These three are the exceptions, and they are the same three every year.

What to book, and when

Six occasions between Halloween and New Year's Day. Every price below is the published starting rate, read straight from the menu.

  1. Halloween on Ocean Drive

    Saturday, October 31

    Book styling by mid-October

South Beach treats October 31 as an adult holiday and the 30th and 31st are the two busiest styling days of the month. Color that has to survive a wig, a wash-out or a night of product wants a consultation first.

  2. Thanksgiving week

    Monday 23 – Wednesday 25 November

    Book two weeks out

The sleeper week. Nobody plans for it as a beauty occasion and then the photographs from that day get framed for a decade. Thursday is closed, so the whole week compresses into three days.

  3. Miami Art Week & Art Basel

    Monday 30 November – Sunday 6 December

Book blowouts two weeks out, color the week before

The busiest seven days on our calendar, and the fair is under a mile from the chairs. Regular prices all week.

  4. Holiday party season

    All December

Book smoothing first, styling two weeks per event

Not one busy week but five back to back. A smoothing treatment is the highest-leverage booking of the season because it pays off every morning for a month rather than for one night.

  5. Christmas Eve

    Thursday, December 24

Book by the start of December

Open. The 23rd and 24th are two of the heaviest styling days of the month, between parties and family arriving, and they go first.

  6. New Year's Eve

    Thursday, December 31

    Reservation fee, books out early

The one day of the year the regular menu does not apply. A short event menu runs at event pricing — blowouts, updos, makeup, manicures and pedicures.

Every event on the Beach this season, with booking guidance for each, is on the beauty calendar. Everything we do and what it costs is on the full menu.

Want your exact price first?

Published prices are where a service starts — where yours lands depends on your hair. Text us a photo and a stylist will quote you back, usually within minutes. Or come in for a free consultation and leave knowing the exact number before anything begins.

Common Questions

Is McAllister Spa open on Thanksgiving?
No. Thanksgiving is one of only three days a year we close, along with Christmas Day and New Year's Day. We are open every other day of the year, including Sundays and Mondays, when much of Miami Beach is shut. The Monday through Wednesday before Thanksgiving is one of the busiest stretches on our calendar, so book that week two weeks out.
Are you open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?
Open on Christmas Eve, closed on Christmas Day. December 23 and 24 are two of the heaviest styling days of the month between party hair and family arriving, and they fill first. Book them by the start of December.
Are you open on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day?
Open December 31, closed January 1. New Year's Eve is the one day of the year the regular menu does not apply: a short event menu runs at event pricing, with a reservation fee. Every other day of the season, Art Week included, is at our regular published prices.
How far ahead should I book for holiday parties?
Two weeks for a blowout or an updo on a specific evening, and longer if you want a specific stylist. Color and balayage want the week before the event, so it has settled. Keratin or a smoothing treatment is the highest-leverage December booking because it pays off across five weeks of events rather than one night, and that wants two weeks' notice.
Do holiday prices go up?
No. Our regular published prices run the whole season, including Art Basel week and every party weekend in December. The single exception is December 31, which has its own event-day menu. Nothing else on the calendar is priced differently.
Can you take a group before a party?
Yes, and it is routine in December. Text the head count, the date and the time you need to be out the door, and we will block the chairs so blowouts and updos run side by side. The earlier you text, the better the slots.

Did we take care of you?

A review takes about a minute and means the world to the artist who took care of you — it's also how the next guest finds us.
