Skin Resurfacing
Dermaplaning, Peels & Microdermabrasion in Miami Beach
Three ways to take the top layer off and let better skin through — dermaplaning for instant smoothness with no downtime, microdermabrasion for texture, chemical peels for tone. Chosen for your skin, not from a menu, by Jeanette Gonzalez, our esthetician for advanced medical skincare. Peels from $100, microdermabrasion from $110, dermaplaning priced at the consultation.

Why Resurfacing Matters More Here
Sun, salt, sweat and sunscreen, most days of the year. Miami Beach skin builds up a layer of dead cells and product faster than skin almost anywhere else, and that layer is what makes a good complexion look dull and a good serum do nothing. Resurfacing takes it off. Which method depends on how much needs to come off and how much time you have: dermaplaning for tonight, microdermabrasion for a series, a peel for a change you will see for weeks.
What to Expect
A consultation first, every time. Dermaplaning takes about half an hour and you leave with nothing to hide. Microdermabrasion is a little longer, with mild pinkness for the afternoon. A peel is applied, timed and neutralized in the room; you will flake lightly for a day or two and then stop. All three end with SkinCeuticals and sunscreen, and you will be sent home with a plan for the next four weeks, because resurfacing without aftercare is a wasted appointment.

Common Questions
- What is dermaplaning?
- A sterile blade, held at a low angle, removes the top layer of dead skin and the fine vellus hair ("peach fuzz") from the face in a single pass. No chemicals, no downtime, no redness to speak of. Skin is immediately smoother, makeup sits flat, and anything applied afterward — a peel, a serum, a mask — absorbs better because nothing is in the way. It is priced at the consultation, because whether it stands alone or pairs with a peel changes the appointment.
- Dermaplaning, a peel, or microdermabrasion — which one do I need?
- Dermaplaning is mechanical and superficial: dead skin and fuzz, instant, no downtime. Microdermabrasion is mechanical and a step deeper: crystals or a diamond tip polish the surface, good for texture and dullness, best in a series. A chemical peel is the deepest of the three on our menu: an acid lifts the outer layers so smoother, more even skin comes through, with a day or two of light flaking. Jeanette decides at the consultation, from your skin, not from the menu.
- How much does a peel cost?
- Chemical peels start at $100 and are priced by depth after a consultation. Microdermabrasion is $110 a session, $500 for a series of five, or $900 for ten. The Microdermabrasion Express and the Hyperbaric Oxygen Additive are add-ons to a facial, not standalone services, and are priced that way on the menu.
- Is there downtime?
- Dermaplaning: none. Microdermabrasion: mild pinkness for a few hours. Peels on our menu: the kind you can have on a Tuesday and go to dinner on Wednesday — a day or two of light flaking, not a week indoors. Sunscreen every day afterward is not optional in Miami.
- Can I have dermaplaning before an event?
- Yes, and it is the best-timed thing on this page: two or three days before, so skin is at its smoothest and makeup applies like a filter. A peel wants at least a week before an event; microdermabrasion three or four days.
- Who does resurfacing at McAllister Spa?
- Jeanette Gonzalez, our esthetician for advanced medical skincare — dermaplaning, peels, acne treatment and HydraFacial. Ask for her by name. Every treatment starts with a free consultation, and if your skin should not have the treatment you came in for, you will hear that first.
- Will dermaplaning make hair grow back thicker?
- No. Vellus hair is cut, not pulled, and cutting does not change the follicle. It grows back exactly as it was, in about four weeks, which is also the interval most guests keep.
Did we take care of you?
A review takes about a minute and means the world to the artist who took care of you — it's also how the next guest finds us.
