A stylist telling you honestly that a photo will take two appointments instead of one is not being difficult. They are being accurate, and accuracy is the whole job.
Look at work on hair like yours
Portfolios are useful only when they're relevant. Fine hair behaves nothing like coarse hair; virgin hair takes lightener nothing like hair with a decade of box color in it. When you're looking at a stylist's work, the question isn't "is this beautiful" — it's "is this hair like mine, and did it end up somewhere I'd want to be."

Specialization is real
The person who does an exceptional precision cut is not automatically the person you want doing a corrective color. Our floor is deliberately built around that: Directors, Master Colorists, Master Stylists, Senior Stylists and Master Assistants each work to their strengths, and the team page says who does what. If you're booking a technically demanding service — color correction, a big lightening job, extensions — asking for someone who specializes in it is a completely normal request.
What the levels mean for price
Our pricing runs on three stylist levels, and the difference is experience, not a different product. A women's haircut with a stylist blow dry starts at $125 with a Senior stylist, $145 with a Master, and $165 with a Director. Color follows the same structure — a single process Goldwell TopChic color starts at $110 and moves up by level.
That structure exists so you can choose. A straightforward trim or a single-process root touch-up is beautifully served at the Senior level. A complicated blonde correction on hair with history is worth a Director. Neither choice is the wrong one; they're different jobs.
