The Airbrush Spray Tan, Done Properly

A spray tan goes wrong in predictable ways: too orange, streaked at the ankles, patchy by day four, or applied in a pop-up tent by someone who never asked about your skin tone. Almost all of that traces back to two things — the formulation and the application. Here's how we handle both.

Custom-mixed, not one-size-sprayed

The active ingredient in any sunless tan is DHA, which reacts with the surface of your skin to develop color. The concentration matters enormously: too low and it barely shows on deeper skin tones, too high and lighter skin goes orange. We custom-mix up to 14% DHA per client rather than spraying everyone from the same canister, and it's applied by airbrush in a private treatment room — not a booth, not a tent on Ocean Drive.

Original or Express — the only real decision

Original develops over a normal window and is the default: $59 full body, $39 half body, $20 face and décolleté. If you want a deeper result, an extra coat is $10.

Express is the fast-developing formulation, and it's the one to pick when the event is the same day: $69 full body, $49 half body, $30 face and décolleté.

Either can be paired with an exfoliating dry body scrub beforehand — $79 with Original, $89 with Express — which is the single biggest upgrade available, because exfoliation is what prevents patchiness before it happens.

If tanning is part of your routine rather than an event, both come as monthly packages: four Original sessions for $199, or four Express for $239.

Making it last in this climate

Miami is hard on a spray tan — salt water, chlorine, and sweat all accelerate fading. The habits that matter: exfoliate and shave the day before rather than the day of, arrive with clean skin free of lotion and deodorant, wear loose dark clothing afterward, moisturize daily once it's developed, and rinse off after the ocean or the pool rather than letting salt or chlorine sit. A tan lasts up to about a week with that care, fading gradually the way a real one does.

The event-week sequence

If you're building toward something — a wedding, a shoot, a weekend — the order matters. Exfoliating scrub and tan go last, after any waxing and after your hair appointment, because both can disturb fresh color.
