Senior, Master, Director — What Our Stylist Levels Actually Mean

Look at any price on our menu and you will see it three times: once for Senior, once for Master, once for Director. A women's haircut with a stylist blow dry is $125, $145, or $165 depending on which you book. Most salons either hide this or never explain it, which leaves you guessing whether the higher number buys anything real.

Here is the honest version.

What the levels are

The level reflects how long someone has been doing this work and how much demand there is for their time. It is not a certification you can look up, and it is not a claim that one artist is good and another is not — everyone on our floor holds a Florida license and everyone here got through a hiring bar. What rises with the level is experience, speed of judgment, and how much of the difficult work someone has already seen.

At the moment the floor runs three Directors — Paula Sperduto, Jie Matar and Luis Canas — alongside Master and Senior stylists and colorists. Every one of them is listed with their specialties on their own page.

What the price difference actually buys

Time and judgment, mostly. A Director has usually seen your specific problem before, which shortens the part of the appointment spent working out what to do. On a straightforward cut that matters less than you would think. On a correction — someone else's balayage gone brassy, a box-dye grow-out, a shape that never sat right — it can be the whole appointment.

That is the honest test. If the work is straightforward, a Senior stylist will do it beautifully and you keep the difference. If the work is a repair, a big change, or something you have been disappointed by before, the extra experience is worth paying for.

Stylist or colorist — the distinction that matters more

You will notice the titles split two ways: Stylist and Colorist. That difference is more useful to you than the level is.

A colorist's craft is chemistry and placement — formulation, lift, tone, and how all three behave on your particular hair. A stylist's craft is shape — how hair falls, where weight sits, how a cut grows out. Plenty of people do both well, and several of ours do. But if you are booking primarily for color, the word Colorist in someone's title is a stronger signal than Director is.

Pick the specialty before the level

This is the part most people get backwards. Our floor is organised around specialties, not just seniority: hair extensions, curly and textured hair, balayage, smoothing and keratin, threading, advanced skincare. A Master Colorist who works on curls every single week is a better match for your curls than a Director who does them occasionally.

So the order that works is: decide what the appointment is really for, find the person who does that specific thing most often, and let the level fall out of that. Every stylist's page lists what they are requested for and what languages they speak, and between the floor we cover eight.

What it costs, plainly

Haircut with a stylist blow dry: $125 Senior, $145 Master, $165 Director. Color, balayage from $240, smoothing from $275, and everything else is published the same way on the full menu — every figure a starting price, because length, density and condition move the number.

The consultation is free at every level, and it happens before anything is agreed. If a Senior stylist is the right call for what you want, we will tell you that rather than sell you up.

The short answer
