Men's Hair in Miami Beach, Priced Honestly
Men in Miami Beach mostly choose between a barbershop and doing nothing. Both are reasonable. But there is a third answer that gets overlooked, and it is the one worth knowing about if you have ever left a chair thinking the shape was fine and the color was not, or that the fade was sharp and the top was an afterthought.
What it costs
A men's haircut and styling is $65 with a Senior stylist, $75 with a Master and $85 with a Director. That is the whole price, published, the same as every other service on our menu. The three numbers are not three different haircuts — they are the same service at three levels of experience, and for a straightforward cut the Senior rate is the honest recommendation.
Color is where the range opens up:
- Gray coverage from $55. The most-asked-for and least-talked-about service on this list. Done well it is not a dye job, it is a reduction — you keep some gray and lose the rest, so nobody can point at the week it happened.
- Men's single color from $85.
- Men's highlights from $75. Useful on hair that has gone flat rather than gray.
- Olaplex bond multiplier, $50, added into any lightening.
Full pricing by tier is on the men's page.
Where a salon beats a barbershop, and where it does not
A barbershop is better at clippers. If what you want is a skin fade every three weeks, go to a barber, and go to the same one every time.
A salon is better at three things. Growing something out, because a stylist who cuts long hair all day thinks in stages rather than in one visit. Color, which most barbershops do not do at all and the ones that do treat as a single product on a single timer. And hair that is thinning, where the answer is a cut that works with the density you have rather than a shorter version of the cut you had at thirty.
If you are not sure which you need, say so at the free consultation. We will tell you when a barber is the better answer, which happens more often than you would expect from a place that would rather have your money.
Walk-ins
Men's cuts are among the services most likely to fit a walk-in, and being open seven days means it often does — including the Sundays and Mondays much of the Beach is closed. Text (305) 604-0550 and you will hear back the same day. Color always needs an appointment, because it needs a consultation first and a block of time nobody can promise on the spot.
Who does it
Mauricio Ortiz is requested by name for men's grooming and works in English and Spanish. Luis Canas covers men's cutting and men's color, in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Ask for either when you book, and the request is honored wherever the schedule allows.
Free parking on site at 1301 Alton Road, which on this island is not nothing.
